Duke of George presents

The Heritage Reunion Jazzband

Due to popular demand, The Heritage Reunion Jazzband will be making its return appearance at the Duke for a matinee performance on Sunday 21st December. Past performances have been great fun and the band loves to bring traditional jazz to new audiences at the Duke.

The band was the Jazz Club of WAs house band back in the 80s and 90s and has always been an attraction as its music is mainly New Orleans traditional jazz, played with fun and enthusiasm.  The music is free flowing, pulsating, revivalist style and is always swinging, fresh and joyous. The band   will be featuring its new trumpet player, Adrian Hicks, a fine younger musician and WAAPA graduate. They also have a new face on piano – Tony Celiberti, a graduate of Berkley Collage of music in the USA. Tony is an exciting, vibrant pianist.

The other members of the band have been an integral part of the jazz scene in Perth over many decades: Bob Benton is on trombone, Murray Kent on reeds and vocals, Rod Evans on banjo, John Healy on double bass and vocals and Nige Ridgway on drums and vocals.

So have some fun and enjoy this genre of jazz - melody, rhythm and harmony are the hallmarks of Heritage! Not to be missed!
