Approximate Running Times: Doors - 7:00pm Start - 7:50pm Finish - 10:00pm Ted Mulry first gained attention after sending demos of his original songs to Albert Productions, who encouraged him to become a recording artist. He found early success as a solo singer-songwriter with "Julia" in 1970, followed by the major hit "Falling in Love Again" in 1971. A prolific songwriter, Mulry also wrote songs recorded by artists including John Farnham, Alison MacCallum and Sherbet. In 1972, he formed the Ted Mulry Gang (TMG) with Les Hall and Herman Kovac, later joined by Gary Dixon. Adopting a harder rock sound, the band scored their biggest hit with "Jump in My Car", which spent 11 weeks at number one in Australia in 1976 and made TMG the first Australian act to knock ABBA from the top spot. TMG followed with hits including "Darktown Strutters' Ball", "Crazy", "Jamaica Rum" and "My Little Girl", remaining a popular live act even after their chart success faded.
