Slow Rage with Chlorine and The Early 20’s live at The Tuning Fork - Concert poster

Slow Rage are an Auckland-based alternative rock duo blending melodic intensity with punk urgency. Taking cues from the emotional drive of Paramore and the stripped-back ferocity of early IDLES, their sound is tight, loud, and confrontational without losing hooks. Originally formed as a solo project by Max Hill, Slow Rage evolved into a two-piece in 2021 with the addition of drummer Sam Hatley. The band reached a new chapter in 2025 with the release of their debut studio album, …Until it Happens to You, an emotionally driven alt-rock record defi ned by its honesty, vulnerability, and deeply human perspective. On stage, Slow Rage delivers a huge sounding, high-energy live show built around distorted guitar and relentless drums. The duo thrive on tension, volume, and crowd movement, turning small stages into an event.

Chlorine is a Shoegaze band with hardcore and ambient infl uences. Keeping it beautiful and lush while also maintaining a huge heavy sound with drop tuned guitars and heavy reverb. They play loud with hard hitting riff s and ear piercing leads that will leave you feeling like you’re entering another dimension.

The Early 20’s are a four piece alternative lineup from Tāmaki Makaurau blending shoegaze haze with punk grit and raw delivery. They’ve recently released their second EP and have been delivering dynamic and energetic live shows alongside many local legends since.
