FAIRTRADE NARCOTICS at Brunswick Ballroom

Fairtrade Narcotics is a genre-defying collision of psychedelia, jazz, rock and sophisticated pop. Fronted by the spirited vocals of songwriter/bandleader Brooke Kymberley, their sound features a palette of synth guitar, trumpet/flugehorn, keys and a locked, energetic rhythm section. 

The band’s progressive songcraft is best exemplified on their latest album Recession Pop, a deep dive into early noughties nostalgia, playful grooves and textural soundscapes. 

Following the release of Recession Pop, this rare headline at Brunswick Ballroom is an unveiling of new live music from Fairtrade Narcotics and the soft launch of Expansion Pop: a remix compilation featuring club-ready reimaginings by a cast of Naarm’s most coveted local DJs and producers. 

Fairtrade Narcotics play the Brunswick Ballroom on Friday October 30th, joined by Orange Moon, Creature Fear & In Xira. Don’t miss out on their final headline show for 2026! 

A limited run of remix tapes, compact discs and merchandise will be available on the night.
