The Veil + Cruciform + Special Guests at The Vanguard

THE VEIL return to launch their long-awaited new album, Departures. 

Showcasing the band’s signature sound which effortlessly combines Post-Punk and Doom Metal with moments of Shoegaze beauty and Black Metal catharsis, Departures is an inventive and inspired work and a bold new step for Australian underground music.

CRUCIFORM will join The Veil on the night for their first local show of 2026. Having blazed a trail for Australian Doom in the 1990s, the band sound as vital as ever since reforming; crushingly heavy and deftly atmospheric. 

HEKATE: Making their Vanguard debut, Hekate bring a keen melodic sense to their hypnotic, Sabbathian Doom and finely crafted heavy blues riffs, with an anthemic sound and character that is instantly recognisable. 

OAR: Infusing their atmospheric Black Metal sound with Death and Doom, Oar create haunting passages that surge into ferocious, unrelenting power. Following an acclaimed debut, the band are finalising their second album, with dynamic new vocalist Matthieu now on board.

Dangerous  behaviour including Crowd Surfing, Stage Diving, Moshing and Violent Dancing is not allowed and will result in your immediate removal from  this venue. Inappropriate behaviour at this venue will lead to your banning.
