FREQS & GEEKS ft. Shaking + Jordan MarsonWednesday 24 JUNE, 7pmupstairs | free | $6.66 drinks all evening
FREQS & GEEKS showcases electronic artists from Lutruwita/Tasmania—emerging, established, and everything between. A space for the unclassifiable. Hypnotic, chaotic, euphoric, and raw. Textures that swallow you whole.
Shaking is an experimental sound art duo born out of years of collaborative noise making between close friends. This project is an extension of Marlēné and Making Out (Rosa Bassett)'s love for drone, deep listening and texture. The duo use feedback, electroacoustic instrumentation and layered sinewaves to overdrive and overwhelm- creating mesmerising soundscapes that reimagine harsh noise into gestures of intimacy.
Jordan Marson (FKA Oceans) is an experimental noise artist based in Nipaluna, Lutruwita, whose practice is a personal investigation of possibilities of sound, electricity, and amplification. Leaning into the territory of noise, it can be harsh, but also joyful - and is often both - aiming for a painful bliss that exhilarates and chastises in equal measure.
We strive to be a safe + inclusive space. Do your part to respect others. If you see something that isn’t right, let us know.
