Agatha is the new folk project from Tim Haines (Low Key Crush) and Chris Es, drawing inspiration from the raw, intimate folk of Gillian Welch, Karen Dalton and Lucinda Williams. Built around acoustic guitars and banjo, close harmonies and stripped-back arrangements, Agatha leans into songs that feel a little weathered, tender and lived-in. Joining them is Hamish Macrae, the Melbourne singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist behind Cabbage Moth, whose music moves between intimate fingerpicked folk and wonderfully off-kilter indie songwriting. Opening the night is Amelia Carter, making her live debut with a collection of beautifully written folk songs and a voice to match. Three sets of songs, storytelling and stripped-back folk music.
