Maria Moles is a drummer, composer and producer based in Naarm/Melbourne. In collaborative contexts ranging from free improvisation, jazz and contemporary composition to experimental pop, Maria contributes an acute sense of touch, placement and timbre, unashamed virtuosity and a powerful rhythmic drive.

Julius Schwing is an improvising guitarist and composer from Bruny Island, Lutruwita/Tasmania. Born in Vienna, he started playing guitar at age nine and since the age of thirteen has performed extensively throughout Australia and internationally. He has three times been nominated for the Freedman Jazz Fellowship and placed 3rd in the 2022 National Jazz Awards. In 2023 Julius was awarded a state luminary APRA/AMCOS Art Music Award. He has released eleven albums, ten of which are on his own creative music label Isthmus Music. Julius’s distinct improvising style and compositions are heavily influenced by the dramatic natural surroundings of his home on Bruny Island and a life lived in constant contact with this environment.

Hand Clap is the moniker of Maya Borjesson, an architect and visual/sound artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Using synthesizers, spoken word, and field recordings, their compositions explore themes of connection, memory, nostalgia and loss. Hand Clap's practice is deeply personal and sits at the crossroads of ambient music, electronic experimentation, string composition, and visual art.

Tim Panaretos is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist playing at the blurred boundaries of outsider folk, global psychedelia, noise/drone, post-punk and various forms of improvisation. As a solo musician, Tim is most often seen with a bouzouki, channeling the pissed-off ghost of rebetiko music (often called the Greek blues). He has released solo and collaborative recordings on Australian underground labels such as Chemical Imbalance, Albert’s Basement and his own Frustration Jazz label. 

Andrea Breen is a musician, sound designer and multimedia artist with an interest in improvisation and community collaboration across the arts. She has performed, exhibited and undertaken residencies interstate and overseas as well as in Tasmania, including as support for William Basinski in 2025. Andrea is a founding member of the Lutruwita Art Orchestra and the Nelipot Collective, the latter a socially and environmentally-engaged dance/arts/music collective. Her practice is also informed by her work as a therapist, specialising in play therapy, trauma recovery and refugee mental health.  

Together, Tim and Andrea work somewhere between purely abstract sound and a kind of unsettled instant-narrative music. Having first played together in 2019, to date their preferred choice of tools for these intentionally open-ended wanderings have been lap steel guitar, viola and Andrea’s occasional uneasy vocal offerings.
