After consistently promoting their latest single "you & i", DRAINING are now ready to unveil “mourn” - a return to the band’s 2017 shoegaze roots, calling back to their self-titled EP while signalling what’s to come. 

Positioned at the forefront of the emerging nugaze and heavy shoegaze movement, “mourn” showcases heavily down-tuned, distorted guitars and dark, introspective themes. The track carries an almost Bones-esque dark rap atmosphere, blended with grungegaze textures and nu-metal intensity. 

Drawing inspiration from Deftones, Moodring, Glare, Loathe, Fleshwater, Split Chain, Narrow Head, Soul Blind, and more, “mourn” firmly places DRAINING within the nugaze wave - a genre-blurring space where shoegaze collides with hardcore and alt-metal.
