ESME The Show - Esme Rowling + House of Monkeys + AJ Stanton + Galileo Lima + The Nowadays at Lazybones Lounge Restaurant & Bar

Born in London, singing in Sydney. Esme Rowling, 19 years old, is a chaotic jazz/blues-pop artist who is writing to express her endless waves of emotions. Her music focuses on intense lyrical value, life experiences and intentional songwriting. 

In early 2024, Esme joined House of Monkeys. The band pushed her music from a casual passion to a professional investment. Esme's first two releases outline shaping experiences she went through, delving into her patterns in different types of relationships. Her Debut EP, 'ESME', is a five-track release, each song showcasing a different feature of her character that grants her unique sound. 

Esme relies on a live jazz sound to push the emotions and drama of her music (which is, thus, her life) into the ear of the audience, utilising horns and raw playing styles to complement the smokiness and limerence of her voice. Writing music without an instrument in hand, the depth of subjects in her works and her catchy melodies draws eyes and ears from different corners of her life . ‘ESME - The Show’ is a night to spotlight Esme Rowling’s EP, and the intrinsic nature these songs have on her as a person. 

“Mature with a grain of madness”, AJ Stanton's live shows are raw, eccentric, and captivating. AJ's unapologetically quirky, honest, raw songwriting and lyricism marks her as one of the standout singer songwriters of her generation. With influences from bedroom-pop, indie, jazz and folk, AJ has been songwriting since the age of four and is a poet at heart, writing music that is spontaneous, curious and rich with emotion. 

The Nowadays are an alternative Sydney based band with music spanning jangle pop, indie rock, bossa nova and neo-soul. Influenced by artists such as Alvvays, The Marías and Dominic Fike, their music consists of jazzy guitar tones, funky bass lines, upbeat drum beats and sassy pop hooks. Composed of four inner west teenagers - Alonso Manalac, Ethan Swissa, Harry Awad and Vevie Brook - The Nowadays have been honing their distinctly DIY sound in backyards, bedrooms, and off-the-wall music venues for the past two years. With a passion for writing and performing their original music, they are now in the process of finishing their debut album.
