Since 2011, Daryl Aberhart’s Aussie Gold Vol 1 has been something of a cult favourite among those in the loop. It is a masterclass in how to take the DNA of iconic Australian radio hits and mutate them into something entirely fresh and soulful. 

A veteran of the Aussie jazz scene and the only artist ever authorised to set lyrics to the compositions of jazz legend John Scofield, Daryl is a master of the re-frame. Choosing his favourite Australian tunes, he deconstructs the nostalgia you grew up with and rebuilds it with his signature moves, full of odd time signatures, deep grooves and clever re-contextualising. 

Following two high-energy undercover shows earlier this year, Daryl returns to the heart of Sydney for one night only at Lazybones Lounge Level 1 on Wednesday, May 27th. This show is a head-first dive into a new batch of unrecorded arrangements, playing your favourite tunes in ways that will intrigue and delight.
