AK-FRU 'Sheer Weight of Numbers' Album launch w/ Meow Meow and the Smackouts, None for One & Bad Form at La La La's

AK-FRU (human name: Simon Frew) launches his first studio album, Sheer Weight of Numbers. A veteran electronic music producer who cut his teeth at raves on Mount Keira in the early 2000s, AK-FRU spent the last several years developing and crafting his own unique sound.With driving beats and rhythms, psychedelic beeps and glitches, alien textures and rich layers, Sheer Weight of Numbers provides science fiction sounds for our modern cyberpunk dystopia. The music explores the alienation of modernity where compute is valued more by the powers that be than flesh and blood, more than the planet itself. Against this, a joyful spirit of defiance shines through, celebrating solidarity in our collective humanity.Joined by an otherwise all punk line-up, with Meow Meow and the Smackouts bringing their sweet rhymes and sick riffs from Sydney and local insurgents None For One and Bad Form, the night promises to be one of rebellion in different shapes. A line-up that may read like a system error, but that’s OK, system’s corrupt anyway.
